Many thanks to Hofbräu Brewery Munich and Munich Tourist Office for their kind and generous sponsorship of our now traditional Site Germany IMEX 2011 Networking Reception which was held on Wednesday, 25th May 2011 on the Munich IMEX Stand. Participation was strong and the mood was upbeat. We were particularly delighted that not only Site members attended, but also many other interested collegaues as well as a number of enthusiastic students.
'Make the momentum matter' is the motto of 2011 Site President, Mary Mc Gregor, who attended the above event This, indeed, is a motto Site Germany gladly adopts and one we should all apply to our varying business activities over the coming year.
Under Research & Trends you can now read the results of the latest Site Index Survey, 'Focus on Destination Management Companies'.
Political lobbying in Berlin and in Brussels means bundling energies and using synergies. Site Germany is delighted to be part of a new Germany MICE industry joint-political lobbying initiative entitled 'Hauptstadtkongress' (Capital City Congress) which will take place from 18th - 20th June 2012 at the ICC in Berlin. Participating organisations include: GCB-German Convention Bureau, MPI Germany, ICCA, EVVC, VDR and Site Germany.
Site Germany Board and Officers look forward to your pro-active participation and support over the coming year. In the words of Site Global Past-President, Seán Mahoney: 'There is a significant difference between belonging to Site and participating in Site. The more involved you are...the greater the rewards!' (see Who we are - Why Site?). It would also be great if you would also recommend Site membership to close industry colleagues - new young leaders in particular! These are the future of your companies and of our industry!
I look forward to talking to you and to seeing you all at some point in 2011!
